How Television Affects Children?

Television viewing has both advantages and disadvantages and also as a major activity, influence on children a lot. Some advantages of watching television can be illustrated by : first, preschoolers can get help learning the alphabet on public television. Second, grade schoolers can learn about wildlife on nature shows and then television can inform and entertain children. But despite this advantages, too much television can be detrimental. For instance, time spend watching television takes away from important activities , such as reading, school work, playing and so on.another example is that they are influenced by the thousands of commercial seen each year, many of which are for junk food, fast food and toys. Kids who view violent acts are more likely to show aggressive behavior. And finally children who spend more than four hours per day watching television are more likely to be over weight.
